We’ve had a full and creative year (plus some months) here on the Peninsula. Although you wouldn’t know it given my lack of posting. I must prefer the doing over the reporting.
Here’s the thing…
I built this website as we “moved north to make art by the sea.” I thought I would post more as a way to build a business. But, as it turns out, our day jobs are rather fulfilling, so pursuing a livelihood with what we make has lost its urgency. At the moment, we enjoy getting paid to work at satisfying jobs while making whatever we want in our free time. We DO sell things here and there, which is great AND affirming, but it doesn’t consume us.
So, here I am (at the gentle nudging of a friend), checking in to celebrate Autumn! It may seem odd to celebrate the herald of winter, but I rather like the movement inward. And I love the custom of honoring our loved ones and ancestors across the threshold.
This year I found a BIG pumpkin to offer cozy respite for ALL souls who travel the realms on holy evening: All Hallow’s Eve. The glow of candlelight in a pumpkin is so comforting to me. It’s warm and inviting. May we all find comfort this season, in grand and simple (wee) ways.
